GO Windlass - Safety Sheet
Please read the following instructions regarding the safe use of the GO Windlass.
We would always advise the wearing of gloves when handling any wndlass.
Always ensure that when either socket is used, it is pushed firmly onto the canal lock tapered spindle.
When using the reversible ratchet always ensure that the direction switch is fully engaged (ratcheting).
When raising paddles always ensure that the pawl on the lock mechanism is engaged in order to prevent any uncontrolled freefall of the lock paddles, this is to prevent the unsafe rotation of the spindle and windlass and may cause damage to the lock gate.
When lowering a lock paddle, always use the fixed socket for the safe and controlled lowering of the canal lock paddles.
